Modern Mining & Technology Sudbury (MMTS) is on a mission to excite younger generations about the future of mining through a series of fun and educational events. MMTS is made up of volunteers from diverse industries and backgrounds and has been a part of the community for many years. Through partnerships with the mining industry, government, and educational institutions, MMTS educates and enlightens youth about the many careers that contribute to an innovative and world-class mineral resources sector in Sudbury and Northern Ontario.
High school students from Sudbury, Espanola and Manitoulin in grades 9-12 will be provided with a unique experience to dig deep into the world of mineral resources that is fun, engaging, and educational!! It is an opportunity for students to work together to answer questions, complete challenges and activities! Students will answer mining-, engineering-, geology-, environmental-, trades-, and community-related questions, solve math and science problems, complete curriculum-based activities and tackle five live challenges!

The MineOpportunity competition is open to French, English, Public and Catholic School Boards in Greater Sudbury, Espanola and Manitoulin.
Student team members must be from the same school, registered as full-time, in grades 9, 10, 11, or 12.
Team are made up of 4-5 players and no there is no limit on how many teams a school can enter.
We are accepting a maximum of 300 students. Teams will be selected on a first come, first serve basis.
